Job Details

Please note: We will consider both Hybrid and Remote candidates for this role.

The Digital Accessibility Program Manager serves as the operational and subject matter backbone to the Office of Digital Accessibility’s service delivery. This role owns the day-to-day functioning of the digital accessibility program in managing the service portfolio, conducting accessibility evaluations, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of accessibility reviews from team members, engaging directly with campus clients on complex compliance challenges, and tracking program performance. The Digital Accessibility Program Manager reports to the Director for the Office of Digital Accessibility.

The ideal candidate brings both digital accessibility expertise and strong program management skills, serving as a critical bridge between technical staff and Stanford clients by translating findings, balancing competing priorities, and ensuring clients leave every engagement with clear, actionable guidance. They are equally comfortable guiding a campus web team through a remediation roadmap, reviewing an engineer's audit report for accuracy and completeness, and prioritizing and managing competing tasks with concurrent deadlines.

Core Duties:

Program Management:

  • Manage the digital accessibility service intake pipeline by triaging incoming requests, assigning work, tracking progress, and ensuring reviews and consultations are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate with Office of Digital Accessibility staff on workload planning, deadline management, and service delivery priorities.
  • Maintain quality standards for digital accessibility deliverables and consult with digital accessibility engineers on complex findings or edge cases requiring additional interpretation. Ensure findings are presented in a manner that is solution-focused and actionable for both technical and non-technical clients.
  • Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with digital accessibility standards and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues with institutional partners that span organizational and university boundaries.
  •

    Program Evaluation:

  • Evaluate how existing accessibility tools are offered and based on configuration, adoption, and use, if they are meeting program goals or when alternatives should be considered.
  • Identify trends in accessibility issues across campus and surface insights that inform strategy and resource planning.
  • In coordination with the Director, track and maintain key performance indicators and program metrics, including service volume, review turnaround times, client satisfaction, remediation outcomes, and compliance trends.
  •

    Planning and Analysis:

  • Under supervision of the Director, execute strategic plans for the Office of Digital Accessibility, leveraging subject matter expertise to meet regulatory and technical challenges for digital accessibility.
  • Design and evolve the digital accessibility service delivery model, determining how core services (e.g., audit intake, remediation consultation, procurement review, training) are structured and delivered to improve client experiences.
  • Apply a creative mindset and bring the ability to think outside the box to create innovative service offerings.
  •

    Client Management:

  • Advise clients on how accessibility requirements should be applied to specific vendor evaluations while balancing the intersection of technical standards, compliance obligations, and institutional constraints.
  • Support clients on complex compliance requirements, including situations requiring creative or non-standard solutions.
  • Navigate difficult conversations with stakeholders who are resistant to or overwhelmed by accessibility requirements.
  • Translate technical remediation findings into actionable guidance for non-technical content owners, developers, and procurement staff.
  • Responsibilities

    Core Duties:

    • Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
    • Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
    • Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
    • Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.
    • Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
    • May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

    Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions using good business judgment and innovative and creative problem-solving.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage financial, organizational and staff resources.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to cultivate professional and business partnerships.
    • Relevant subject matter expertise.
