  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working in customer service, hospitality, recruitment, or communications-related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Event Management, Public Admin, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Experience with customer response, call center management, and guest services.
  • Experience with leading and designing a tour program experience.
  • Experience with working in Housing and Residential Life.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.

Job Description:

The Coordinator for Guest Services position will oversee the customer experience in the Department of Housing and Residential Life (HRL). This individual will be responsible for the development and oversight of a tour program for prospective students (daily tours, Bobcat Day, summer orientation, and admitted students day, ect), manage the front desk/reception area and call center of the department, and have oversight and responsibility for monitoring, managing, and ensuring the timely response to concerns that are generated through the departmental email address.

Job Duties:

Tours & Guest Services

  • Oversee Housing and Residential Life tour program, including daily tours and special events.
  • Directly manage desk operations and guest interactions at the main Housing and Residential Life reception desk to provide clear, timely, and student success focused messaging.
  • Assist in the management of annual housing fairs, workshops, and information sessions for students.
  • Answer phone, e-mail, screen, or transfer calls; take messages; refer to other offices as appropriate.
  • Communicate with other personnel, faculty, staff, students, parents, customers and/or others the most up-to-date housing information to ensure quality customer service.

Supervision
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and support of a staff of Housing Ambassador (HA) student staff to ensure proper support, training, and response to customers at the desk.
  • Directly oversee and manage staff-wide meetings, one-on-one meetings, and other interactions with student staff to provide maximum support and direction to execute community goals.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise a staff of student housing ambassadors.
  • Evaluate performance of student employees, including ongoing performance management and conduct performance evaluations to support their professional development.
  • Prepare in advance of and actively participate in emergency responses during major events to ensure timely coverage and communication to staff regarding front desk operations.

Departmental Responsibilities
  • Represent TXST and HRL at presentations and interact with parents, students, faculty, and other customers.
  • Actively participate in departmental programs and projects designed to support the mission and goals of the department, division, and institution.
  • Assisting the communications team in developing interdepartmental communications and marketing materials.
  • Team in developing interdepartmental communications and marketing materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
