Position Description

Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Earth Science department.  All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Earth Science. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography, or paleontology; OR 
  • Bachelor's in geology AND Master's in geography, physics, or geochemistry; OR 
  • Valid lifetime credential that authorizes service as an instructor in Earth Science in a California Community College; OR
  • The equivalent. AND
  • Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
MEETING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DOES NOT ASSURE THE CANDIDATE OF AN INTERVIEW. Applications will be evaluated taking into account the breadth and depth of relevant education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in geology or earth science.
  • Knowledge of the community college system.
