Position Overview
Please note: This is a grant-funded position.
Starting Salary Range is $53,248 - $55,964. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
This role will offer career exploration and professional guidance to technical students, aiding them in setting career goals. It will promote student success through the creation of resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and job search strategies. Additionally, it will involve tracking students post-graduation to maintain employment data.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct career exploration events through petrochemworks.com trainings and other career exploration tools.
- Assist students with resume writing, cover letter, mock interviews, and employment opportunities.
- Connect career goals with Lee College programs to create pathway for student.
- Collaborate with the Student Career and Employment Services Office.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and presentations using PowerPoint and other media solutions.
- Create and foster relationships with local industry.
- Develop presentations and activities that appeal to target audiences, such as soft skill development.
- Conduct evening and weekend special events and activities.
- Maintain social media outlets.
- Assist with the Women in Manufacturing student organization and other professional student groups.
- Create networking opportunities.
- Track student employment after graduation.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Human Resources, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or closely related field
- Two (2) years of related work experience in a technical or industrial field
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal abilities and public relations experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating functional and chronological resumes and cover letters specific to industry
- Ability to teach soft skills
- Excellent organizational skills, self-starter with strong time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to lift at least twenty (20) pounds of recruiting materials; extensive pulling and pushing of recruiting materials is frequent in this position
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
- Must be able to work a schedule that may vary week to week
