Summary:
The Learning Partners and Learning Difference Recruitment Coordinator will provide the college with recruitment and yielding strategies for one of our signature academic programs at the college, Learning Partners. The position will develop targeted recruitment and marketing strategies for learning difference and/or learning divergent student populations. The position oversees the recruitment and onboarding plan for the learning partners program, new students that request accommodation, and work in close collaboration with the Learning Partners support team as well as support the overall admissions and recruitment efforts of the college.

This position is responsible for promoting the program through recruitment efforts, marketing, special events, workshops, outside committees and organizations, and conferences. In addition, the coordinator is responsible for enrollment funnel progression (application completion) and provides details and support for potential Learning Partners and Learning Difference students and their families.

The coordinator will have familiarity with accessibility services, inclusive learning environments, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position assists with the training, technical assistance, and consulting services to faculty, staff, administration, and students, including universal design, reasonable accommodations as well as information regarding local, state, and federal legislation as well as vocational rehabilitation resources.

This role works closely with both the enrollment team and academic success professional staff, the Learning Partners  professional staff, all of the academic support staff, and the academic support services administrative assistant.

Essential Functions:
● Accessibility Services and Learning Partners
   o Presents to students, parents, and various community schools and agencies about transitioning students and the colleges incredible success with learning difference populations.
   o Provides information about the success rates, unique aspects, and various funding sources and scholarships that can support Learning Partners students and parents through individual meetings, college and program open houses, pre-view/ admitted student days, and orientation events.
   o Facilitates the understanding of students with learning differences and accommodations through workshops, reports, and other means to various entities of Louisburg College, including the Board of Trustees through the Learning Partners Advisory Committee, the President, Vice-Presidents, Division Chairs, Committees, as well as other departments and individuals as needed.
  o Provides information and training to various high school transition coordinators and counselors, Vocational Rehabilitation representatives, and other outside organizations. Develops and coordinates formal partnerships and agreements with closely connected or affiliated schools and agencies.
   o Engages in recruiting and outreach to various constituents. Extensive travel and evening and weekend event  participation required.
   o Evaluates psychoeducational and medical reports along with student IEP and 504 plans to determine program acceptance.
   o Assists with the training to students, faculty, and staff on issues concerning students with disabilities.
   o Maintains membership in AHEAD, NCAHEAD, LDA, and other organizations and engages in professional development to stay current on best practices related to students with disabilities.
   o Oversees and awards scholarships set aside for LP students.
   o Updates program brochures and other recruiting materials.
   o Develops and recommends policies and procedures that promote inclusion, universal design, and adherence to the ADA in enrollment practices.
   o Communicates with students and parents (current and prospective) and treatment providers, etc. to get the necessary  documentation to complete the disclosure process.                                                                                                                       o Serves as an access services team member to meet with students to counsel, advise, refer to an appropriate campus  resource, and/or develop a plan of action and/or reasonable accommodation with students who have disabilities by  conducting interviews and reviewing documentation.
   o Assists the accessibility services team on needs and procedures for LP students, assistive technologies, parent and  student interactions, and other duties related to Accessibility Services and Learning Partners.
   o Mentors new Learning Partners and accessibility students and their parents in order to access funding and resources for a successful enrollment process and to facilitate success at Louisburg College.
   o Serves as Academic Advisor to a select few students who may need more support.
   o Maintains student records relating to communications with students, recommended courses of action or accommodations, and documentation provided by the student.
   o Supports the Enrollment Management team by providing support for students in need of accommodations during  admissions and orientation events.
  o Is knowledgeable of and remains current on assistive technology to support the upkeep, recommendation of, and use of assistive technology.  Collaborates with the access services team in recommending, purchasing, and using assistive technology.
   o Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:
● Master’s degree in Disability Studies, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, or a related  area required.
● Familiarity with database management.
● Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a courteous and helpful manner.
● Experience working both independently and collaboratively.
● Experience in building productive relationships with individuals and groups to support the achievement of program and college-wide goals.
● Understanding and commitment of emerging practices related to student enrollment, student engagement, and academic success of disadvantaged student populations.                                                                                                                         ● Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008 (ADAA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and their application to the college setting.
● Ability to read and understand psychological reports and IEP/504 Plans.
● Excellent customer service attitude and willingness to help students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Skills Needed:
● Familiarity with FERPA and applicable laws and regulations regarding student records, confidentiality, and student rights and responsibilities.
● Enthusiasm for working with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population within a higher education setting.
● Strong project management and follow-up skills, ability to multi-task and continually prioritize changing project tasks to meet timeline goals.
● Ability to coordinate individual and team-based activities to support the achievement of program goals and objectives.
● Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently (written and verbal) with all levels and types of employees including keeping supervisors and others up to date on the achievement of goals and objectives.
