Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Arkansas State University–Beebe, a two-year residential community college within the Arkansas State University System, is seeking to fill (2) positions. The Help Desk Technician is responsible for all Tier 1 and most Tier 2 hardware and software support to all ASU Beebe faculty, staff and students by telephone and email as well as in person support for faculty and staff on university owned computer equipment. This position is also responsible for the installation, configuration and support of all university computers, printers, related hardware and university owned software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responding to queries on the phone, via email, in person, or through remote access2. Offering technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, andtroubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software3. Enter information into the Helpdesk ticket system4. Maintain professionalism when working with clients5. Escalate tickets to the next level as needed6. Escalate complaints to the next level as needed7. Assist other ITS team members on assignments and projects as needed8. Other ITS duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree is preferred in Computer Science or closely related field. Relevant education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement; plus a minimum of one year related experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A valid driver’s license in good standing is required due to the this position regularly driving university vehicles.
