Position Title: Skills Laboratory Instructor (Temp PT)

Employment Type: Adjunct Part-Time

Salary Grade: $35.95 per hour

Remote Work Option: Fully In-Person (May be subject to change)

Work Hours: Standard College hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Flexible time schedule Monday through Friday, to include some evening /Saturdays.

General Summary: Develop and maintain a Skills Lab to meet the general and individual needs of students related to developing skill competence.

Requirements:

  • Medical assisting and phlebotomy clinical experience are required.
  • Preferred qualifications are an Associate degree in Medical Assisting with certification; Phlebotomy certification or higher; previous experience as an instructor.
  • Proficient technical skills with ability to operate basic equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.


Duties:

  1. Meet with faculty to identify and clarify skills to be practiced and set up schedule for the semester. Be competent in skills required by students.
  2. Coordinate and supervise skill demonstration, student practice of skills, and sign-offs for student proficiency.
  3. Provide availability of individual instruction for disadvantages for students as needed.
  4. Discuss with faculty individual student learning needs. Contact faculty members every two weeks with students' progress.
  5. Maintain a consistent schedule and record of attendance in skill lab.
  6. Maintain inventory, security, and functionality of equipment and supplies.
  7. Be available for MDA and PHB students according to schedules designed by the skills lab instructors and approved by the MDA or PHB program coordinator and faculty.
  8. Maintain quality controls, all equipment, and adhere to industry standards.

The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
