College/Department Information   The Corporate & Community Engagement team serves as Augusta University¿s bridge between campus and community, fostering collaborations that drive innovation, workforce development, and regional growth.

By cultivating partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofits, the department advances research, supports entrepreneurship, and strengthens economic vitality across Georgia. Its mission is to connect the university¿s expertise and resources with community needs, creating opportunities that benefit students, partners, and the state¿s economy.

Our team includes Corporate Engagement, Economic & Workforce Development, Community Engagement, Continuing Education, and Regional Community Relations.

Job Summary  

The Corporate Engagement Manager supports the strategic growth and execution of Augusta University's corporate engagement and workforce development initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Engagement, this position plays a key role in cultivating and managing a portfolio of corporate and industry partners while advancing workforce development strategies aligned with the academic, research, clinical, workforce, economic development, and innovation strengths.

The Corporate Engagement Manager supports AU's "front door" corporate engagement model by helping companies navigate appropriate university resources and by coordinating internal stakeholders across colleges, schools, centers, institutes, administrative units, and external partner networks. The position supports partnership development, employer engagement, workforce alignment, CRM tracking, meeting coordination, proposal support, stewardship, and follow-through.

Responsibilities  

The duties include, but are not limited to:

EXTERNAL RELATIONS AND UNIT REPRESENTATION: 

Represent Augusta University in meetings and events with corporate, industry, and workforce stakeholders.

Support outreach efforts that elevate awareness of the University's partnership and workforce capabilities.

OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION:

Maintain accurate records of corporate partnerships using institutional CRM or tracking systems.

Support budget tracking, invoicing, and reporting related to partnership activities.

Ensure compliance with University System of Georgia policies and institutional guidelines.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT:

Manage and steward a portfolio of corporate and industry partners, serving as a primary relationship manager.

Support the identification, cultivation, and expansion of new corporate partnerships aligned with institutional priorities.

Coordinate partner engagement across academic colleges, research centers, healthcare units, and professional education programs.

Assist in the development, routing, and coordination of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, letters of interest, and engagement plans in collaboration with appropriate university officials and approval authorities.

Supports Augusta University's corporate engagement and leasing initiatives by facilitating corporate occupancy and partnership activities within the Georgia Cyber Center and other applicable university-managed spaces and advancing strategic collaborations with resident/industry partners.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FOCUS:

Support the design and implementation of workforce development initiatives aligned with employer and regional needs.

Collaborate with academic units and professional education teams to align training programs with industry demand.

Partner with university continuing education, career services, and academic units to facilitate corporate partnerships that generate customized training, internships, apprenticeships, experiential learning, and talent pipeline programs.

Monitor workforce trends and employer feedback to inform continuous improvement.

REVENUE GENERATION:

Support the development of corporate partnership opportunities that may generate added revenue value through workforce training, executive and professional education, sponsored research, sponsorships, facility utilization, licensing, innovation partnerships, and philanthropy-adjacent opportunities.

Coordinate such opportunities with the appropriate university offices, including Research, Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, Innovation & Commercialization, Continuing Education, GCITC, Legal, Supply Management, and academic units.

INTERNAL COORDINATION AND STRATEGIC SUPPORT:

Support strategic planning, reporting, and performance tracking for corporate engagement initiatives.

Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for leadership and external partners.

Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across engagement, workforce, research, and advancement teams.

OTHER: Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in community relations, external affairs, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications  

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in related field.

Preferred Experience:

Experience within a public research university, academic medical center, or economic development organization.

Familiarity with healthcare, cybersecurity, STEM, defense, or innovation-driven industries.

Experience supporting grant-funded or contract-based workforce initiatives.

Shift/Salary/Benefits  

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: 11

Salary: Minimum $56,600/annually

Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
