Work Arrangement: Please note that this position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered hybrid with the expectation to be on campus on average three (3) days per work week depending on events. In addition, this position may require working evenings and weekends. 

Budgeted Salary: The budgeted base salary range for this position is $113,212 – 120,000 per annum.

The Associate Director of Development oversees annual giving programs that provide funding for our mission-based programs. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will implement strategies to identify new annual donor prospects at all giving levels using targeted data analysis, research, and volunteer assistance. This role is responsible for overseeing essential donor stewardship activities such as events, member presales, and personal stewardship of our donors, with a particular focus on our Bing Circle membership program. In addition, this position will oversee the day-to-day operations of our development program, including donor communications and managerial oversight of the Development Program Manager position.

In this role, you will:

  • Based on fundraising analysis, develop strategies for development activities, solicitation assignments, and progress. Monitor, analyze, and report on overall results to internal and external constituencies.
  • Steward and manage established relationships to maximize engagement, renew annual giving, and present new opportunities; cultivate and solicit gifts to the university.
  • Stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
  • Implement and manage programs to involve targeted populations in fundraising and volunteer activities. 
  • Design, craft, and manage language for the annual appeals, and ensure the project is completed.
  • Design and manage appeals (e.g., direct mail, email, video, phone, and other channels) to target key populations to maximize fundraising potential.
  • Work with a portfolio of assigned prospects to cultivate, solicit, and steward their support.
  • Establish ongoing relationships with individual alumni through personal visits, phone calls, and meaningful contacts.
  • Prioritize prospects, prepare background information, make volunteer assignments as appropriate, and follow up with volunteers to ensure completion of assigned solicitations.
  • Work closely with other colleagues in development to align program goals with the overall giving goals of the university's development organization.
  • Execute the Bing Fling event, our annual Bing member recognition event, including contracting outside vendors.

    • Work with staff, donors, volunteers, and other university staffto assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with alluniversity constituencies.

    • Prioritize prospects, prepare background information, makevolunteer assignments as appropriate, and follow up with volunteers toensure completion of assigned solicitations.

    • Work closely with other colleagues in development to alignprogram goals with the overall giving goals of the university’sdevelopment organization.

    Minimum Education andExperience

    Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience orcombination of education and relevant experience.
