About MCC
Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs.
Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River, located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley, located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri.
MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well.

Job SummaryThis position is a PRN Simulation Specialist (Operator). You will be expected to submit schedules and operate simulations throughout the academic year. Technical and computer skills are a benefit.
Two-day training course will orient Sim Specialist on our center’s operations and the requisite skills for the position.Essential Functions
- Operating CAE and Gaumard simulators including assisting with troubleshooting issuesSubmit schedules and operate simulations throughout the academic yearSimulation setup/disassembleClean and organize room suppliesAssists with end of semester cleaning and simulator maintenance Keeps medication carts stocked and replaces medication labelsPerform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed RN or ParamedicOne (1) year experience or experience working in simulation lab as a student.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.Supplemental Information
