Rave! Catering is looking for an organized, high-energy Event Coordinator to join our premier catering team. Rave! Catering proudly employs experienced, certified chefs and catering professionals dedicated to delivering the highest level of service.

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. Our dedicated, expert team is ready to provide hands-on, on-the-job training to help you thrive, grow, and lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mastermind the Logistics: Translate event visions into reality. You will organize staff, equipment, and logistics, utilizing Catertrax to proactively build equipment lists and event floor plans.
• Ensure Flawless Execution: Stay one step ahead by making sure every linen, fork, and menu item is ordered, on-hand, and ready to go before the guests arrive.
• Lead and Inspire: Supervise events on-site. On some days, you’ll run lean, independent events; on others, you will lead a large service team to execute a flawless dining experience.
• Deliver “Rave” Service: Act as the friendly, professional face of Rave! Catering, building relationships with university clients and following up to ensure their expectations were exceeded.
• Be a Collaborative Pack Member: Support the broader NC State Dining mission by stepping in to assist at other campus dining locations when unique business needs arise.

NC State Dining provides campus-wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 10 cafes, 3 food courts, 6 dining halls, 4 markets, 1 restaurant, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 180 permanent EHRA and SHRA employees.

Work Schedule:

Hours will vary depending on events, may include evenings and weekends.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

• Be an ambassador for NC State Dining and the university as a whole and enrich the quality of life for the campus community and support student success.
• Work as a cohesive team member and play an integral part in creating a positive work environment.
• Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Minimum Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.

Department Required Skills:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and supervisors, and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the university.
• Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to the team and customers.
• Demonstrated excellent organization skills, including accurate and timely data entry.
• Must be able to professionally collaborate with colleagues and be part of a team environment.
• Requires bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds above the head and up to 60 pounds on rare occasions, with or without reasonable assistance.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

• Previous work experience in catering or food service experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety, cleaning and sanitation procedures

Required License or Certification:

• Valid Driver’s License required. State vehicle furnished to drive to events or other Campus Enterprises locations.
