Qualifications:

• A master's degree in construction management or a closely related field (such as civil engineering, architecture, construction science, building engineering, or facilities management) is required. An earned doctorate is preferred. At least three years of professional experience in construction management, facilities management, project engineering, or related fields is required. Industry leadership or supervisory experience as well as previous university-level teaching experience are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach effectively in a multicultural environment and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.

• As an educational institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Church), BYU–Hawaii prefers to hire qualified members of the Church in good standing, as authorized under 41 C.F.R. § 60-1.5 (a)(6). To be eligible for employment, applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching requirement is typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not all) of the following subject areas/courses:

- Construction methods, materials, and building systems

- Construction documents, plan reading, and specifications

- Project planning, preconstruction, estimating, and procurement

- Construction and facilities project management

- Building operations and facilities management

- Construction safety, OSHA standards, and risk management

- Sustainable construction and building practices

- Leadership, teamwork, and professional communication

- Emerging technologies in construction, including Building Information Modeling (BIM),

Bluebeam, artificial intelligence (AI), and related digital tools

• Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.

Benefits:

• Salary range: 115K to 131K, depending on credentials (highest degree earned), rank and experience.
• Housing stipend.

• A relocation expense package is provided.
• Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”).
