Responsibilities- Responsible for cleaning, repairing, and maintaining statues, public art, campus gates, and other outdoor areas as directed by supervisor. Position should understand how to address objects made of bronze, metal, stone, marble and wood. Common sculpture repairs include the treatment of corrosion, cracks, flaking paint, bronze sculpture patina repair, and wax treatments. Relies on knowledge and skills for specialized cleaning of outdoor artwork and historical architecture by utilizing appropriate specialized methods as directed by supervisor. Responsible for soda blasting, sand blasting, and bead blasting as appropriate. This position should understand the difference between restoration and preservation and when to employ and complete either practice. Will assist with moving outdoor artwork.
- Responsible for cleaning graffiti and other projects as assigned. Cleans and pressure washes outdoor furniture, kiosks, statues, campus gates, sidewalks, and other outdoor areas. Responsible for setting up and breaking down pressure washing or welding equipment for projects. Ensures safe environment for the campus community and reports concerns to the supervisor.
- Responsible for other related duties in support of the department's goals and objectives. Operates utility vehicles and other motor vehicles as necessary to complete assigned duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience, or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years. A technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire.
