About the Position

The Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) Department at the Adnan Kassar School of Business at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Artificial Intelligence. The department is seeking qualified candidates who can support its teaching needs in the Master’s in Data Analytics program as well as its minors in Data Analytics and AI, particularly in areas that strengthen the connection between artificial intelligence, machine learning, data-driven decision-making, and real-world business applications.

Candidates with a strong background in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or Data Analytics are particularly encouraged to apply, given the department’s need for expertise that bridges technical AI knowledge, analytical thinking, and applied business problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related areas within the Master’s in Data Analytics program.
  • Contribute to high-quality teaching using applied, student-centered, and technology-enhanced approaches.
  • Support students in developing practical AI, machine learning, and data analytics skills.
  • Bring practical, research-informed, and/or industry-informed perspectives into the classroom where relevant.
  • Help students connect AI concepts with business decision-making, analytics projects, and real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with the department on course coordination, assessment, and continuous curriculum improvement.

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Information Systems, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • A PhD is preferred, especially for graduate-level teaching.
  • University teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to teach Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related data analytics courses.
  • Relevant professional, research, or industry experience in AI, data science, machine learning, or analytics is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment.

About LAU

LAU was founded as a college for women in 1924, tracing its origins back to the first school for girls in the Ottoman Empire started by Presbyterian missionaries in the 1830s. About the ITOM Department

The mission of the Department of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) is to help students at the Adnan Kassar School of Business become proficient in the fields of information systems, information technology management, business analytics, supply chain management, operations management, and related decision sciences. The Department strives to generate knowledgeable graduates who are adept at managing technology and operations and who can effectively contribute to their businesses and communities in a constantly changing environment. It also strives to actively collaborate with the corporate sector, consistently innovate, and raise the bar on its research so as to improve the efficacy of education and its reach around the globe.
