Primary Purpose of the Organization::The primary purpose of the Department of Campus Enterprise is to enhance the overall quality of life at Fayetteville State University by providing essential products, services, and programs that support the daily needs of students, faculty, and staff. Through the management of key campus operations, including the Bronco Card office, Central Receiving, Mail Services, and the Seabrook Auditorium, the Department of Campus Enterprise ensures convenient, reliable, and cost-effective resources are readily available to the campus community.
As part of the Division of Enterprise Operations, it is committed to delivering excellent customer service, responding to campus needs, and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to support both on-campus and off-campus communities.
The Department of Campus Enterprise is composed of multiple specialized work units, each responsible for distinct services that collaborate seamlessly to ensure the diverse operational and everyday needs of the campus community are met efficiently and effectively. Each role, whether focused on customer service, operations, administration, or technical support, plays a vital part in delivering high-quality services across units such as Central Receiving, Bronco Card Services, Mail Services, and more. Employees in this department work collaboratively to ensure that students, faculty, staff, and visitors receive reliable, efficient, and customer-focused support. Ultimately, these positions exist to uphold the department’s mission of providing high quality responsive services that enrich the overall quality of life at Fayetteville State University.
Central Receiving
- Receive incoming equipment and supplies ordered by University departments.
- Manage shipments delivered by common carriers (e.g., UPS, Overnight, FedEx).
- Process and document all incoming deliveries.
- Deliver received equipment and supplies to the appropriate University departments.
- Coordinate and handle vendor returns.
- Ensure accurate tracking and routing of all incoming and outgoing items.
The Mail Center
- Pick up and sort all incoming USPS mail from the Post Office for the University.
- Deliver sorted mail across the University according to daily scheduled runs.
- Conduct scheduled pickup and delivery runs throughout the University community.
- Collect outgoing USPS mail and interoffice mail from University departments.
- Ensure timely and accurate routing of all incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail.
Bronco Card Office
- Issue new Bronco Cards to students, faculty, staff, and authorized personnel.
- Replace lost, stolen, or damaged ID cards.
- Verify eligibility and identity before issuing cards.
- Maintain accurate records of all ID card transactions.
- Troubleshoot card-related issues such as access failures or account errors.
- Manage cardholder accounts, including updates, activations, and deactivations.
- Provide customer service and support for all Bronco Card inquiries.
- Coordinate with campus departments to ensure proper access permissions and system updates.
Seabrook Auditorium
- Set up and prepare the venue for events, including seating, staging, and equipment.
- Operate and maintain audiovisual, lighting, and sound equipment during events.
- Provide on-site support to event organizers, performers, and presenters.
- Ensure the auditorium is clean, safe, and presentable before and after events.
- Enforce facility policies and safety regulations.
- Manage equipment inventory, storage, and maintenance.
- Address technical or logistical issues that arise during events.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Six months to one year of relevant experience in the area of interest.
- Communicates routine and general information to staff, clients, and/or public about standard services, processes, and procedures using prescribed or established guidelines. Screens and directs clients /visitors to appropriate source.
- Uses a variety of office equipment information systems (e.g. telephone, computer with standard software, fax, copier, etc.) to access, input, and verify standard information. Operates and performs tasks to maintain equipment with a general understanding of its capabilities.
- Coordinates tasks and establishes priorities in response to work flow of the office or work unit.

Fayetteville State University (FSU) is a member of the prestigious University of North Carolina System. Situated in southeastern North Carolina, FSU prides itself in being in one of the most diverse cities in the country and neighbor to one of the nation’s largest military installations – Fort Bragg.
FSU has a rich history that serves as genesis for its current status as a leading institution of higher learning. A year after the Civil War ended, the Phillips School provided primary education to Fayetteville’s black citizens, and the Sumner School provided intermediate education for this population. The two schools were consolidated in 1869 and dedicated in April of that year as the Howard School, in honor of the Freedman’s Bureau chief General O.O. Howard. Seven prominent African-American men pooled $136 to purchase two lots for the first building that housed the Howard School. Robert Harris was named the first principal of the Howard School.
In 1877, the Howard School became not just the first public normal school for African Americans in North Carolina but also the first state-sponsored institution for the education of African-American teachers in the South. It was renamed the State Colored Normal School in Fayetteville that year, Fayetteville State Teachers College in 1939, Fayetteville State College in 1963, and Fayetteville State University in 1969.
While FSU’s roots are as a teacher education institution, it now offers nearly 70 degrees at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels. Many of the programs are accredited by the top agencies. The university’s School of Business and Economics is endorsed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB is one of the most prestigious and rigorous accrediting bodies for business programs in higher education. Currently, less than one-third of U.S. business programs and only 15% of the world's business programs have earned AACSB accreditation. Receipt of this distinguished accreditation provides evidence that FSU’s School of Business and Economics has established itself as a leader among business schools. Additionally, the Master of Business Administration program has been cited by U.S. News and World Report and The Princeton Review as one of the best graduate business school programs in the country. The Department of Criminal Justice is accredited by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS). FSU’s criminal justice program is the only such program in North Carolina to hold ACJS certification.
FSU is rapidly becoming a center for research and technology. In spring 2010, the university, in conjunction with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, cut the ribbon on the Southeastern North Carolina Regional Microanalytical and Imaging Center. The center is home to the electron microprobe, an advanced imaging tool that magnifies objects up to 300,000 times.
FSU is a partner in the community. The institution has formulated a strong relationship with the local municipality and with civic and social organizations in the area. The institution enjoys its partnership with its military neighbors. In the coming years, as a result of Base Realignment
and Closure (BRAC), Fort Bragg will be home to more than 50,000 soldiers and some of the nation’s top military brass. To address their educational needs, FSU has implemented a degree in intelligence studies with plans to offer more academic programs with the military in mind.
