Position Summary::Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hiring adjunct faculty to teach courses in our Philosophy program. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students. Adjunct instructors are provided a contract for a single term only. Each contract ends at the end of the term, and a new contract will be provided if the adjunct faculty is hired for another term. An adjunct faculty member is under the management of the Program/Division Chair and supervised by the Academic Dean. This is not an online-only position, but may include online, hyflex, or hybrid classes in the future. All interested applicants must be able to teach in-person, or you will not be considered for the position.
Required Education/Experience::- Master’s degree or higher in Philosophy or Ethics; or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in related coursework in Philosophy and/or Ethics
- Experience using learning management systems such as Blackboard, Canvas, or related software
- Experience with Quality Matters standards
Lib Arts - Humanities
Work Hours::This faculty member will be on contract to teach face-to-face sections of Introduction to Ethics during daytime hours in Salisbury, Concord, and/or Kannapolis. This is not an online-only position, but may include online, hyflex, or hybrid classes in the future. Applicants should not apply if their availability is online only.

Business and Industry Services' staff provide customized support for the community through the Small Business Center, New and Expanding Industry Training and Focused Industrial Training. The Small Business Center is designed to assist small business start-ups and to help existing businesses grow. The college's New and Expanding Industry Training office has earned national recognition for cooperative training efforts with area industries. Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.
An important function of the college is to provide educational programs on the pre-college level. Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
