Job Details
Olympic College seeks faculty who are dedicated to student-centered learning and to fostering an equitable and inclusive educational environment. The adjunct position will teach Business Technology accounting course(s) in accordance with the college catalog and departmental guidelines, contingent upon skill requirements in one or more of the following areas: Computerized Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Accounting Simulations, QuickBooks, Individual Taxation, Practical Fund Accounting, Taxation for Business, and Taxation Simulations. Other classes within Business Technology include Business Correspondence, Business English, and MS Office Suite Technology. The adjunct faculty member must be able to teach in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, hyflex, or online. Experience using Canvas as the Learning Management System and/or the willingness to learn it is of importance.Essential Functions
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, education, computer applications or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of successful professional experience in a business-related field including finance, accounting, and tax preparation.
- Proficient with the technology necessary to teach online or partially online courses and the ability to learn and use instructional technology such as Canvas.

- Demonstrate a commitment to teach and assist students with little or no background, as well as the experienced student desiring to further their careers.

- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, diversity, and a learning-centered climate.
- Demonstrate success incorporating accessibility and special needs accommodations.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the classroom and with other professionals to maintain effective and positive working relationships.
- Collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, and students as part of an educational team.
- Incorporate the use of technology in the delivery of course content and services, including the use of the College approved learning management system.
Conditions of EmploymentPrior to hiring, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
