Position Summary:

Performs reconciliation of University contributions made to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) for defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans and ancillary benefits. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of data, financial integrity and compliance with VRS policies and the Code of Virginia. Navigate multiple systems and work with other University departments and VRS representatives to research discrepancies, identify causes and take corrective action. Complete assigned mandatory agency reporting and provide information required for internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience Performing Benefit Plan and/or Financial Reconciliations and Audits
  • Benefits, Payroll or Accounting Experience
  • Experience With HRIS Software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong Attention To Detail and Ability To Perform Work Accurately and Thoroughly
  • Demonstrated Ability To Independently and Proactively Research, Evaluate and Analyze Data
  • Ability To Understand Complex Transactions and Processes
  • Ability To Interpret, Apply and Explain Policies, Procedures and Processes
  • Strong Sense Of Ownership and Accountability For Reconciliation Process
  • Experience creating and/or generating compliance reports.
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills.
  • Ability and skill using Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability and skill to interpret, apply, and explain policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of VRS Business Rules and VRS DCP Correction Policies
  • Experience with Workday, Ellucian Banner and VRS Navigator
  • State Agency or Higher Education Experience

Advertised Pay Range:

Up to $70,000, commensurate with experience
