Job Details
Olympic College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. The PTA Program Adjunct Faculty provides instruction in didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical settings, ensuring that content is current, evidence-based, and aligned with program and CAPTE accreditation standards. The adjunct faculty collaborates with the Program Director, full-time faculty, clinical partners, and the Division Dean to support student learning, skill development, and professional growth.
Essential Functions
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in assigned PTA courses, including lectures, labs, and clinical education.
- Evaluate and assess student performance through exams, practical assessments, clinical evaluations, and assignments.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on their progress, skills, and professionalism.
- Incorporate contemporary physical therapy practices and current educational technologies into instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress in accordance with program and college policies.
- Foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment that supports diverse learners.
- Collaborate with program faculty and staff to maintain program integrity, quality, and compliance with CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education) standards.
- Support students during clinical rotations, including liaison communication with clinical instructors as needed.
- Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities as appropriate.
- Comply with college policies, FERPA regulations, and program-specific guidelines.
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities;
- Punctual communication with students, faculty, staff and program and division administrators;
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading;
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested;
- Teach assigned courses in appropriate disciplines in accordance with College catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines; and
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
