Job Summary:
The Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is a federally funded program that exists to identify, treat, and give access to care for persons with bleeding and clotting disorders in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The HTC provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services; education and consultative services for community physicians, educational and other support programs for patients and their families. The work is organized into four sections consisting of research, clinical care, advocacy and community service, and pharmacy services. This position functions within the Clinical unit of the HTC providing clinical care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
The Practice Business Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and tracking HTC's initiatives to proactively address patient access and health equity through educating, facilitating, and advocating for patients with bleeding and clotting disorders while ensuring that clinical operations are effective and revenues maximized. The PBS through the Patient Access Team is tasked with finding ways for all patients to receive the care they need regardless of social, financial, or medical factors that would normally inhibit access to care.
The Practice Business Supervisor will manage three domains in HTC efforts to achieve greater patient access. These are access to information, access to care, and access to medications. Accordingly, the incumbent will use knowledge and experience of clinic flow, medical coverages, and revenue cycle management to educate HTC patients and minimize their out-of-pocket cost for healthcare while simultaneously maximizing clinical revenues; collect and use demographic, insurance, and clinical information from patients to ensure that all reimbursement requirements are met; seek referrals and authorizations for patient visits and procedures and record claim authorizations from payers for outpatient services delivered by CU providers at the CU Hemophilia Treatment Center; facilitate patient scheduling; including but not limited to medical transportation or language interpretation/translation to achieve culturally sensitive and appropriate care; seek authorizations for all medications dispensed in the clinic and provide back-up to the HTC Pharmacy seeking authorizations for the Pharmacy to dispense to HTC patients.

The hiring range for this position has been established as $69,984 to $89,020.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check Position will be required to travel to outreach clinics, weekend educational programs, offsite meetings and trainings. Some evening and weekend home care or hospital visits may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of ICD9/10 diagnosis codes, as well as CPT codes. Previous billing, Medicare, and private pay experience preferred At least three (3) years of experience in a federally recognized Hemophilia Treatment Center. Previous experience as a supervisor or team lead preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Advanced life support and/or ACLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of clinic workflows and insurance requirements for clinical and pharmacy prior authorizations. Must be proficient using a computer, online websites, and email. Knowledge of basic insurance and medical terminology. Understanding of key drivers of revenue cycle.
