Job Summary:
The Research Informatics Office (RIO) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a talented individual to be a full-time Research Informatics Navigator. This position will support and assist the research community at CU Anschutz to make effective use of cloud tools and cloud-based data (both non-clinical research data and clinical research data). This person will manage efforts that include training and support for managing accounts, migrating content, and generally advising researchers about how to make the most of platforms such as Google Workspace and Google Cloud to securely and appropriately collaborate with researchers across campus and beyond.
The Research Informatics Navigator will have experience in customer service and training as well as having the technical acumen to learn and teach sophisticated tooling. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, the discipline to complete tasks, the ability to work with all levels of research staff and faculty, and to tailor support to a diverse internal audience at all levels of technical proficiency. The Research Informatics Navigator will work closely with the University IT department, the library, and other research IT groups on the Anschutz Campus. The Research Informatics Navigator will gather information about user requirements and issues and will deliver the appropriate corresponding training/support. Training venues will include in-person small group sessions, online 1:1, written documentation/correspondence, and recorded videos. The Research Informatics Navigator will also iteratively evaluate and refine training content in response to stakeholder needs.
The immediate objective of this role is to ensure that members of the research community at CU Anschutz understand how to make the most of Google Workspace and Cloud platforms in a secure and scalable way.

- Develop, implement, and manage a training plan in partnership with the department, project team and external stakeholders.
- Develop training materials, branding and messages to engage the research community, and share information.
- Identify metrics that will measure the effectiveness of training and impact of the platforms on research collaboration.
- Work regularly with the OIT technical resource to educate the user community of upcoming service disruptions, upgrades, feature rollouts, etc.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate internal training and strategy.
- Maintain a calendar for training activities.
- Develop and manage training materials.
- Implement and manage Google groups.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and track the effectiveness of training.
- Create videos for training.
- Maintain a positive presence on the pilot and roll-out.
- Maintain intranet for the tools and platforms (e.g., Workspace and cloud).
- Manage intranet content, look, and functionality.
- Update existing content and generate new content.
- Ensure content meets standards for accuracy, usability, and best practices.
- Field inquiries to the help desk for these platforms.
- Actively communicate and act as a liaison between the user population and OIT technical support to streamline the ticketing process and provide researchers with solutions that are best for the university.
- Assist with data management approaches.
- Build and maintain relationships with the department leaders, faculty, trainees, and staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other partners as appropriate.
- Identify and implement best practices regarding pedagogy, data management practices, strategies, and tools.
- Foster and grow OIT relationships.
- Attend and/or host and/or host campus and zoom meetings as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, education, public relations, or other related fields.
- Familiarity communicating technical/informatics content and writing about technology for a non-technical audience.
- Familiarity with storage, management, and permissioning of documents and data in shared locations.
- 3-5 years of experience providing technical and or informatics support in a research environment, preference given for experience in health care or higher education and those with technical training experience.
- Experience with project management, prioritization, timelines, and ensuring on-time deliverables.
- Familiarity with MS office productivity suites.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Google Suite/Google Workspace including Google Groups.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with project management tools, such as Smartsheet, Basecamp, MS Teams, JIRA, etc.
- Experience with video creation/editing.
- Familiarity with training platforms, such as SkillSoft.
- Understanding of sensitive data governance, such as HIPAA.
- Familiarity with the research grant application process, particularly for NIH.
- Strong knowledge of document permissioning in shared locations, especially at scale.

- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, school, departments directors, administrators, managers and other stakeholders and partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively in brief, focused and well organized oral and written presentations.
