GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs the more complex test in the section(s) which require advanced skill and interpretation. May provide leadership to Technologists or Technicians working in an assigned area of a section. Assist Section Supervisory Technologist in identifying and establishing new test procedures. Provides support to the Section Supervisory Technologists for all technical procedures, quality control, quality assurance, personnel supervision, and testing in his/her assigned area. Provides Section Supervision during absence of the Supervisor Technologists. Has the capacity to rotate through several sections of the Laboratory with consistent accuracy.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related science.
2. Must meet all of the criteria of the Medical Technologist II position.
3. Must be certified by a nationally recognized certifying body i.e., HEW; ASCP; or AMT.
4. Must have three years of recent experience as a technologist of which not less than two years have been spent in the area(s) of assignment.
5. Education may be substituted for experience on a one to one basis.
