This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur.

Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech- Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for various departments at the Shelton Olympic College Campus. This position will be responsible for helping students develop abilities in the discipline in which they are working. Disciplines are based on student needs and will include Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, Mathematics, and Writing. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Essential Functions

Providing academic support for students in one or more non-stem related subject areas.Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.Assist students in interpreting discipline-specific problems and situations.Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and/or communication skills.Assist students working in an online format.Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.High school graduate, equivalent, or Current Running Start Student. Terms of Employment

Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $20.49 - $27.28 per hour*. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.

Conditions of Employment

Prior to a new hire, a background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted.
