Job Summary:

The position is a tenure-track, full time (12 month) faculty position atthe rank of Assistant Professor at the Oklahoma State University Center forHealth Sciences campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We seek to hire an outstandingscientist in the fields of virology, microbial genomics, systems microbiology,or microbiome science. The successful applicant is expected to develop a strong,extramurally funded research program and establish collaborative and interdisciplinaryinteractions within the department, the OSU Center for Health Sciences, and thebroader scientific community. They also will provide research training forgraduate and medical students.
The candidate will participate in team teaching using in person or telepresencein the medical microbiology course concurrently with the faculty based at theOklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the CherokeeNation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The candidate also will be expected toparticipate in teaching graduate courses in their area of expertise.

The letter of application should discuss teaching experiences in microbiology,microbial genomics, or related disciplines.

Laboratory space and start-up packages will be negotiated based on thecandidate’s needs and record of success.

Classroom teaching and laboratory environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp,feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
- Ph.D. in Microbiology or a closely related field
- Postdoctoral research or professional experience
- Previous experience teaching in a medical school
- Proficiency in instructional technology
- Interest in teaching collaboratively
