Job Summary

Lynn University, a member of the Sunshine State Conference and NCAA Division II, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for ensuring that individuals and groups representing the university's athletic program comply with all institutional, Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA regulations. The position is also responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all policies and procedures relative to a comprehensive compliance program which includes recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, playing and practice seasons, and amateurism. Administer, educate and enforce Sunshine State Conference, NCAA and institutional compliance policies and procedures for all athletic sports. Inform and educate coaches, student athletes, administrators, staff, and faculty on NCAA rules and regulations. Evaluate the eligibility of prospective student athletes, review high school and college transcripts, national test scores, academic credentials and credit requirements; oversee academic progress toward degree. This position also provides academic and eligibility information to prospective student-athletes and parents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct the institution's overall athletic compliance program consistent with all institution, Sunshine State Conference and NCAA regulations.
• Serves as the primary contact to the Sunshine State Conference compliance office and responsible for all reporting to the SSC and NCAA
• Serves as a member of the athletic department's senior leadership team. This position reports directly to the Deputy Athletic Director with a dotted reporting line to University Compliance.
• Responsible for the education of coaches, student athletes, administrators, staff, and faculty on NCAA rules and regulations through consistent communication.
• Serves as primary resource and contact with Financial Aid office and coordinates all appeals hearings of athletic financial aid, ensures compliance with NCAA limits and coordinates with coaches on financial aid within their programs
• Responsible for the collection and maintenance of all student-athlete records
• Creates, edits and executes all policies and procedures related to student-athlete compliance
• Assists with certifying initial, continuing and transfer eligibility of student-athletes.
• Manage the Assistant Compliance Coordinator to ensure consistency, accuracy and quality of work performed.
• Evaluate the eligibility of prospective student athletes, review high school and college transcripts, national test scores, academic credentials and credit requirements; oversee academic progress toward degree.
• Investigates, evaluates and reports all athletic waivers and violations.
• Acts as primary contact for multiple campus departments including admissions, housing and some auxiliary service units
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
• Must have four (4) years of experience working in an athletics compliance office at a NCAA-member institution or at the NCAA Office.
• Must demonstrate the personal attributes of innovation, adaptability and effective communication with coaches and university administration.
• Experience with ARMS Compliance Software is preferred
