Nature of Work:

This position assists faculty, staff, and students with their Mariner Access Cards. This position may involve clerical tasks and simple projects which contain information of a sensitive nature so maintaining confidentiality is required.

This is a 19.5 hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Director of Card Office. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time, even if class is cancelled or dismissed early.

Essential Duties:

  • Extend excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors.
  • Create, print, and manage faculty, staff, students and vendors Mariner Access Cards.
  • Complete various office tasks including making copies, faxing, shredding, answering phones, etc.
  • Create and update a variety of Card Office communications including but not limited to brochures, flyers, forms, e-mails, surveys, web pages, etc.
  • Assist the Bursar’s office with various office tasks including making copies, faxing, shredding, answering phones, etc.
  • Providing information regarding student charges, how to access and utilize the student portal, payment plan information, and other services offered by the Card Office and Bursar’s office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

College Work Study eligible persons will have received an Award Letter in Coast and will need to upload that letter to the documents area when applying to this job. Follow the instruction in the “Special Instructions to Applicant” area to locate your Award Letter.

Additional requirements include:

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Must possess strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

  • Demonstrates excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Ability to concurrently handle both co-/extra-curricular and curricular assignments.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially excel.
  • Prior experience in an office setting.
  • Work Hours :

    Based on the needs of the department. 19.5 hrs or less per week.
