Who We Are
We are the largest community college in Colorado, enrolling close to 28,000 credit students annually. We were one of 30 colleges in the initial American Association of Community Colleges Pathways Project, recently selected as a “Most Promising Place to Work” in Diverse Magazine, and profiled as one of six top community colleges for transfer student success in a recent Aspen Institute publication. We have developed a strong strategic plan focused on improving student graduation and transfer rates and have made significant investments in advising and other student support programs.

Who You Are
As the Executive Director for Equity and Inclusion (EDEI), you will report directly to the College President. Operating as a change-agent, you will provide collaborative leadership for professional development, programming, and initiatives that create an equitable and inclusive environment at the college and promote the success of all students.
The college is currently developing a new strategic plan, which will have equity as a centerpiece. In conjunction with the college’s Equity Inclusion and Diversity Council and Strategic Planning Committee, you will play a key role in shaping the equity components of this overall strategic plan. In addition, you will also be instrumental in developing and implementing a plan for equity and inclusion that aligns with the college’s mission and strategic goals.
Your critical role as the EDEI will be leading teams to organize and present professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.

What programs, projects, and initiatives had been the highlights of your experience with implementing Equity and Inclusion efforts? Be sure to discuss specifically what your role was in those efforts. Describe your experience developing and facilitating training and/or learning activities related to Equity, Inclusion & Diversity. Be sure to include your role in garnering buy-in or engagement with employees, facilitating difficult conversations, and evaluating the success of the training.
SALARY: $85,000 to $90,000 annually
Equity and Diversity Leadership
Serve as a member of the President’s cabinet and collaborate with other college leaders to support campus and division leadership teams in ensuring equity-mindedness in their decisions and in developing actions to ensure equity in student outcomes.
Convene the college-wide Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Council (EIDC) and lead the council’s role in creating a college-wide equity and inclusion professional development plan.
As a member of the FRCC Strategic Planning Committee, take an active role in developing and implementing the FRCC strategic plan, with a particular focus on ensuring the plan consistently addresses equity and inclusion and contains concrete steps to address equity in student outcomes. Working with the EIDC and the President’s Cabinet, develop and implement specific initiatives to become part of the strategic plan.
Serve as a member of and consultant to the campus Diversity Committees, helping them develop campus-based programs to engage students, staff, and community.
Consult with the President and other college leaders on how best to respond to incidents of racism, bias, and discrimination on campus.
Professional Development and Training
Lead the EIDC to assess the needs for equity-related professional development for employees, create a college-wide professional development plan, and train a cadre of facilitators to deliver training college-wide. Prepare and disseminate information on equity-related initiatives, activities and outcomes, including ways the college and staff can engage in community initiatives and activities
Assist the EIDC and the campus diversity committees in planning and hosting public events on the subject of diversity, equity and inclusion on campus. This may include the utilization of internal resources, e.g., internal campus speakers, or feature external guests who are invited to campus to broaden the horizon of our stakeholders.
Develop and implement communication strategies to inform and educate faculty, staff, and students about equity issues and development opportunities.
Collaborate with the President, Executive Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development, and the President’s Cabinet to create, implement and assess programs and policies designed to ensure the college recruits, hires, and trains and retains a diverse faculty and staff.
Provide search committee training on inclusive search practices.
Participate in onboarding and ongoing professional development for new employees.
Community Outreach and Data Collection
Research and share diversity and inclusion-related data, efforts, trends and innovations.
Coordinate ongoing assessments that use a range of data-gathering approaches.
Interact with and engage the local community in building strategic diversity partnerships in order to elevate the visibility and strategic value of diversity education.
Assist in identifying and preparing grant proposals that support equity and diversity efforts at the college.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution
Two or more years of demonstrated experience creating and facilitating equity, inclusion and social justice professional development opportunities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
Previous experience in higher education environment
Knowledge of training and development methods
Knowledge of assessment and program evaluation techniques
