Responsible for processing mail and packages, keeping accurate records and familiarity with postal equipment, as well as ability to interact with students and employees in friendly professional manner and perform specialized duties as described below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned within classification.
1.Process incoming, outgoing and College mail and packages, including forwarding of mail
2.Pick up, sort and deliver mail/packages as required
3.Assign mail boxes for faculty, staff and students as required
4.Ensure outgoing mail conforms to United States Post Office rates and requirements
5.Greet customers, maintain facilities, check ID’s and sell postage as assigned, complete sales on POS system. Operate computerized, electronic, and automated mailing equipment
6.Certify and insure College mail where required
7.Maintain a faculty, staff, student package area
8.Distribute flyers as indicated on job tickets
9.Operate post office vehicles as assigned and maintain gas/mileage record log as assigned
10.Log and capture mail volumes and meter readings
11.Wear uniform and safety shoes per Union contract
12.Maintain an interest in learning new ideas
13.Ability to speak and listen effectively and respectfully with supervisors, customers, and employees of the College
14.Maintain an appropriate image and dress
15.Establish and maintain a high level of customer service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long intervals of time; walk, sit; perform repetitive motions; reach; climb; balance; crouch; talk; hear; possess a reasonable level of eye to hand coordination. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds with appropriate equipment and assistance.EEO Statement
