Unemployment Compensation Coordinator

Position Summary

The successful candidate will coordinate the Unemployment Compensation program including gathering information to respond to UIA inquiries, determining under which section of administrative rules to protest claim if necessary; tracks claims and payments; participates in administrative hearings; monitors the budget; provides administrative support to the Employee Relations professionals including managing informational databases and producing reports, drafting correspondence and agreements; participate in grievance meetings, arbitration, collective bargaining, and other meetings as needed.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human resources area or related field; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible and expansive work experience in a human resources area related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; experience working with unemployment compensation; experience with database software.
