Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute (WEAI), and working in support of the faculty advisor of the Master of Arts in Regional Studies-East Asia (MARSEA) program, the incumbent serves as the primary contact for all student-facing issues and policies. In this role s/he will:
manage administration of the MARSEA program including budgeting, advertising, application processing, admissions, student support, and alumni initiatives (15%);
oversee student fellowship programs supporting research, language acquisition, unpaid internships, and dissertation write-up during the summer and academic year (15%);
liaise with East Asia-related student groups on events and programming, supervising event planning and execution, program development, and budget management (15%);
advise students on program and specialization requirements (10%);
coordinate with various University student services offices as needed to ensure that optimal programs, courses, and support services are available for WEAI students (10%);
prepare student data for grant proposals and funder reports (10%);
assist with special Institute projects as they are developed (5%);
supervise and assign work to student assistants (5%); and
perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%).
