Benefits Eligible Yes Eligible for Overtime Yes Position SummaryThe Facilities Space Analyst will be responsible for the on-going maintenance and support of all CAFM (Computer-aided Facilities Management) based, university space information including both the room inventory database and “linked” building floor plans. The position incumbent is also responsible for the preparation of architectural drawings, diagrams, and maps using various software applications including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and Revit in support of both facilities staff and on-campus customers. The Facilities Space Analyst will also assist in supporting a digital archive comprising both imaged record drawings, specifications, O&M manuals, and other project-related documents.
Education Required Associate's Degree Major/DisciplineArchitecture, engineering, information systems, facilities management, or related field.

Education PreferredBachelor’s degree.
Experience Required 2 years Type of ExperienceTechnical and administrative experience working in facilities or property space management, architecture, engineering, or related field.

equivalent year for year basis in lieu of the experience requirement.
Experience working with AutoCad, computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) software, ESRI ArcGIS, or Revit.
License/Certification Required License/Certification Preferred Skills Required- Proficiency with PC computers, including intermediate to advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of standard applications
- Basic understanding of database concepts and database application development issues
- Strong interpersonal skills and awareness for the needs of departmental, university, and professional customers alike
- Uncompromising attention to completeness, quality, and accuracy of work
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCad software and strong familiarity with the use of enterprise database systems; ability to prepare and publish database reports
- Ability to understand content of architectural and engineering drawings (structure of drawing sets, references, drafting conventions)
- Familiarity with principles of planning, architecture, structural design and building systems
- Familiarity with FICM (Facilities Inventory Classification Manual) measurement and classification standards published by the U.S. Department of Education
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS, Tableau, or Revit
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems
Position will require contact with members of the university community. Positive appearance including dress appropriate to a professional office, cooperative attitude and an exhibited desire to serve the needs of university faculty, staff, and students are essential. Will work closely with Architectural Records Analyst, University Architect, and Executive Director for Space Management.
Position will require contact with university-hired consultants and contractors. Demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness in working with individuals representing concerns hired by the university is also essential.
Physical Demands- Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation for much of the working day
- Must be able to move between buildings widely separated on a college campus

- Retrieves drawings and provides facilities information on demand to departmental and university customers as well as contractors and consultants
- Prepares and publishes ad hoc graphical and tabular reports, drawings, and maps for use by departmental and university customers
- Follows established graphical standards, CAD drafting and GIS mapping procedures, and software protocols to document space utilization and facilities assets
- Performs field verification of built conditions and utilization for purposes of making graphical and database updates
- Assists in managing facilities record documents for use in ongoing departmental planning, operations, and maintenance activities
- Conducts visual inspections and makes physical measurements of spaces as necessary to ensure the accuracy and completeness of university space information
- Works at the direction of the Executive Director for Space Management to update the inventory and prepare space allocation and classification reports on request
- Assists in supporting users with distributed space management tools (i.e. – Visual Map, SpaceApp)
- Assists the Architectural Records Analyst in all aspects of the ongoing maintenance and use of a digital archive of record drawings and capital project documentation
- Assists professional and technical staff and university consultants in retrieving, transmitting and printing drawings on request
- Prepares campus maps, aerial photographic exhibits, and graphical reports using ESRI ArcGIS
- Prepares drawings, diagrams, and maps at the direction of various members of the Facilities Engineering & Planning (FE&P) Department’s professional and technical staff
- Supplies and maintains wide-format, multi-function printer
