Hartwick College is a private liberal arts and sciences college of 1,193 students, located in Oneonta, NY, in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Hartwick's expansive curriculum emphasizes an experiential approach to the liberal arts. Campus and Location
Hartwick's beautiful 425-acre campus is located in Oneonta, NY, in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains. The campus literally is built into the side of Oyaron Hill and has a breathtaking view of the Susquehanna River Valley. Our Pine Lake Environmental Campus is eight miles from the main campus. Oneonta has been ranked as a top ten college town in the nation.

Academics
There's lots of food for thought:  Hartwick's top five majors are nursing, business administration, psychology, biology, and criminal justice, and there's so much more to explore. You have access to 45 courses of study, four pre-professional programs, six cooperative programs, and certifications. Study Abroad and Off-Campus Study
Hartwick students travel everywhere, from Italy to India, for January Term, semester-long, or year-long programs. Approximately 60% of Hartwick students study abroad during their undergraduate years, making Hartwick 2nd in the nation among baccalaureate colleges for the percentage of students who study abroad. Athletics
Hartwick sponsors 18 intercollegiate teams, 8 for men and 10 for women. Hartwick sports compete at the NCAA Division III level. Many of Hartwick's Division III teams participate in the Empire 8 conference. Hartwick also sponsors a spirit team which includes cheerleading, a dance team, and Swoop, the official mascot of the Hartwick College athletic programs. More about Hartwick Athletics.

Accreditation
Hartwick College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education MSCHE or "Middle States"), and the NY State Board of Regents. Individual programs that have specialized accreditation are Art (National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD)), Music (National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)), Nursing (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and Chemistry (American Chemical Society (ACS)).
