The Administrative Assistant/Office Manager is responsible for acting as the assistant to the Vice President for University Relations and Assistant Vice President for University Relations, managing the day-to-day operations of the university relations office, managing the public relations interns and undergraduate assistants, and trafficking media clips and incoming media calls, including media requests. The Administrative Assistant manages attendance at regional and charitable events, including tables, RSVPs and journal advertising, and assists with the coordination of meetings and internal events. The Administrative Assistant also manages all correspondence and coordinates mailings and events with other executive offices. Evening and weekend hours will be required in support of special projects and events.
Bachelor’s degree required. Three to five years managing in an office environment preferred. The Administrative Assistant should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Power Point; be an excellent written and verbal communicator; and understand the tools and tactics available to the communications professional.
