Job Description: The Department of Biology at Salem State University seeks an Anatomy and Physiology faculty for a tenure-track position beginning in September 2013. Teaching assignments will include core biology lecture classes and laboratory sections as needed (Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Nutrition, Introductory Biology) as well as specialized courses in biomedical fields (possibilities include General Pathology, Endocrinology, Cancer Biology, Virology, Mycology, Introduction to Public Health).
Duties include teaching, scholarship, contribution to the development of the university and the department, and academic advising.
The standard teaching load is 24 credit hours per year. Subject to available funding.
Required qualifications include (1) PhD (or ABD) in physiology, anatomy, or a closely related field (MD, DO will also be considered); and (2) experience in teaching college level biology courses.
Preferred qualifications: (1) experience in and a commitment to teaching in a multicultural, multiracial environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles; and (2) experience with instructional technology.
