Assistant Dean/Admission and Financial Aid Counselor
This person will perform need analysis and related functions for financial aid applicants; participate in the development and implementation of on- and off-campus financial aid informational activities; counseling of prospective and current students and families; and participate in admission-related activities.
This person will be under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid and Director of Financial Aid, and will perform other ongoing and situational duties identified by the Senior Associate Dean.
The title of this position will be dependent on the experience of the individual, with ideally a minimum of three years' directly-related experience required for consideration for the Assistant Dean position.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Experiential knowledge of college-level financial aid programs, including state (North Carolina preferred) and federal aid programs required; Experience with automated data management systems required; proficiency with Banner and OnBase highly desirable; Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of applications required; Must possess ability to learn new concepts and adapt quickly to changing requirements and procedures; Must possess superior client service abilities including counseling skills and experience with confidential information and interactions; Must be mature, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and manifest energetic ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, with project management experience desired; Must have flexibility to travel and work, including nights and weekends, throughout the year; Must have valid driver's license.
