Mount Marty College invites applications for the position of Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs. The VPAA and Dean reports directly to the President and is the Chief Academic Officer of the College. The VPAA provides oversight of academic programming on the main campus in Yankton, South Dakota, as well as satellite locations in Sioux Falls and Watertown, SD. Direct reporting areas include the Associate Dean for Watertown and Sioux Falls, Registrar, Library, Academic Departments and Divisions, Learning Center, and the Office of Assessment.
Mount Marty College, founded in 1936, is a Catholic Benedictine coeducational college in Yankton, SD, with satellite facilities in Sioux Falls and Watertown, SD. The 80 acre main campus in historic Yankton overlooks the Missouri River and is minutes away from the Lewis and Clark recreation area, South Dakota’s most popular water-based recreation area. Yankton (pop. 14,500), is ranked as one of the nation’s top 10 small towns in 2012 by Livability.com, is known for its rich history, excellent schools, low crime rate, low unemployment rate and affordable living.
The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree, a minimum of five years’ experience in a ranked faculty position at a four-year college or university, a minimum of three years’ experience in academic administration, knowledge of undergraduate liberal arts, graduate and professional education, strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to shared governance, and a working knowledge of online programming. The successful applicant must be eligible for academic appointment at the level of Associate or Full Professor.
