CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, seeks a strongly motivated, imaginative Internship and Publications Specialist to fill a full-time vacancy in the Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA).
The ideal candidate will research international internship opportunities and coordinate and place students in international internships. Provide support and guidance to students preparing to live/travel in other countries; assist with resume development targeted toward international opportunities; help students plan and develop written/spoken professional communication with internship providers and complete internship contracts and waivers; work individually with students to secure travel documents and safe and affordable housing; construct and propose internship budgets; layout and edit annual newsletter and other CISLA communications; update CISLA website; create and design publicity materials for all CISLA events and develop and prepare PowerPoint and Keynote audiovisual presentations; other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience required. Knowledge of a foreign language strongly desirable, but not required; International travel/study abroad experience strongly preferred. Must possess strong written, verbal and computer communication skills with knowledge of social networking sites; ability to handle confidential information; ability to interact and maintain relationships with parents, students, faculty and staff; proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Acrobat Professional, HTML/web interface knowledge helpful; well-organized, able to work under pressure independently, prioritize and multi-task.
