Assistant to the Vice President
Administration and Finance
Towson University is currently accepting applications for the Assistant to the Vice President for Administration and Finance. This position assists the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by managing all phases of operational, programmatic, and a variety of short- and long-term special projects within the Division of Administration and Finance, and across the University.
Responsibilities: Provide assistance and support to the Vice President and CFO by planning, designing, developing and implementing short- and long- term projects; serving as the divisional budget officer; and lead the assessment and planning efforts of the division. Specific responsibilities include: plan, coordinate, schedule, and organize project activities to meet objectives; prepare status reports on project plans, progress, and result of activities; coordinate and/or link project operations with other administration functions; serve as key resource for division's strategic plan and assessment; provide analytical support; conduct historical analyses and competitive analyses of Towson University and other institutions; oversee development, coordination, and dissemination of policies; provide support by coordinating proposed policies through divisional and university policy development, review, comment, and approval process; provide assistance in the planning and communicating of the divisional operating budget; manage staff by monitoring status, motivating, and providing feedback to staff assigned to special projects and operations; develop, prepare and edit a variety of reports, publications, and correspondence; and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree and four years of related professional work experience, including experience directly reporting to an Executive position. A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred. The selected candidate must have strong computer skills, command of Microsoft Office products and advanced network searches, strong analytical abilities, and good writing skills. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary: Starting salary in the low $80K's and full university benefits that include excellent health, life insurance, and retirement plans; tuition remission; and 22 days of annual leave, 14 holidays, personal and sick days. The position is contingent on funds being available at the time of hire.
