The Compliance Assistant will serve as an administrative resource to the VP/Chief Compliance Officer and Associate VP of Compliance in day-to-day operations including assistance with research, report preparation, application submissions and follow-up. The Compliance Assistant will also provide general clerical support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Engage appropriate state agencies; establish and maintain an ongoing relationship and line of communication ; prepare application documents for submission in seeking state authorization
•Support the Office of Compliance with internal reviews to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as accreditation standards;
•Support the Office of Compliance with scheduling meetings, training sessions, preparing agendas, action items and minutes
•Attend appropriate training sessions
•Provide assistance and support with ADA requests for accommodations
•Assist with report preparation
•Provide general clerical support

•Prefer Master’s degree; however, Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or other relevant degree combined with relevant experience will be acceptable;
•Minimum of two years of experience with solid understanding of state and federal regulations
•Higher education experience preferred
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to take direction, work independently and meet deadlines
•Excellent organizational skills, analytical and decision making skills, adaptability and integrity, project management, persuasive communication, teamwork, and follow up skills
•Excellent working knowledge and proficient skill level in Microsoft Office products; advanced skill level in Excel preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit at desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. He/she will work a standard business workweek in a multi story office building with elevator access. He/she will work a standard workweek but will often involve overtime on weekdays or weekends. (The position is located in the university’s Cypress CA office.)
