The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Rowan University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the field of Environmental/Analytical Chemistry starting September 1, 2013. This is a joint position shared equally with the Institute of Environmental Sustainability. The successful candidate will assist in the establishment and development of the Institute, serve as its Director, and report directly to the Dean of College of Science and Mathematics. The candidate will also be expected to develop a research program in the area(s) of environmental sustainability and/or environmental analysis, pursue and secure external funding, and teach courses in instrumental and analytical chemistry and/or the candidate's specialization.
A Ph.D. in Environmental/Analytical Chemistry or related field is required, and postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Evidence of teaching experience and externally-funded research is expected. Applications for Associate Professor are preferred but excellent Assistant Professor applications will be considered. An accelerated tenure track will be considered for candidates with the appropriate experience.
