Azusa Pacific University is seeking to add a seasoned faculty member to its doctoral programs in Higher Education (PhD in Higher Education and EdD in Higher Education Leadership). Areas of preferred specialization include Higher Education Policy and History/Philosophy of Higher Education, with other areas of specialization open. The rank is open, although we are looking for someone at the Associate or Full Professor level.
APU is a non-denominational Christian university located in southern California, with over 10,000 students and 8 doctoral programs. Our Carnegie classification is a doctoral research university. There are 92 doctoral students enrolled in the Higher Education programs; our program is offered on a distributed cohort basis, with two 2-week residencies required annually for three years of course work, each January and July.
Teaching 3 doctoral-level courses annually in area of specialization, advising students, supervising dissertations, leading a research team of PhD students, and maintaining an active research agenda are expected.

An earned PhD in Higher Education or a closely related field, significant evidence of scholarship, excellence in university teaching, and a strong Christian commitment..
Dissertation supervision and an ongoing track record of scholarly research and publications in the field of higher education.
