The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor starting in August 2013. Applicants holding a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and showing significant potential for innovation, scholarship, and commitment to excellence in research and teaching are encouraged to apply. While all applicants studying fundamental problems in neuroscience will be considered, applicants using genetic approaches to study the development, function and/or plasticity of neural circuits in invertebrates or vertebrates will be preferred.
Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a high-profile research program attracting substantial extramural funding and teach undergraduate and graduate students of neuroscience. The appointee will have access to state-of-the-art life science research support facilities and a campus-wide interdisciplinary neuroscience graduate program.
