Job Description: Responsible for planning, directing and managing the integrated operations, programs and activities for the Transportation Services Department. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Finance and Support Services Planning in the Division of Finance and Support Services. Work includes overseeing daily parking and transportation operations including administration of campus parking, permits, fine collection, enforcement, lot maintenance and construction, Bobcat Tram, Bobcat Tram Interurban, possible consolidated bus system (with City of San Marcos), ridesharing, and bicycle alternative transportation; while ensuring quality, efficient, and financially sustainable parking and transportation services and infrastructure while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications: *Knowledge of parking and transportation (bus) system operations.
*Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly in written and oral format to a variety of audiences.
*Interpersonal skills including listening, negotiation, conflict resolution and persuasion.
*A demonstrated commitment to quality, customer service, staff development and safety.
*Previous experience supervising full time (non student) employees)
*Experience in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
*Strong problem solving facilitation and organizational skills.
*Experience with desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications: *Experience with contract administration with outsourced service providers.
*Experience with implementing TDM programs at a larger (20,000+ student population urban University).
*Experience with coordinated/consolidated bus system.
*Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization.
*Parking professional certification such as Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) and/or Certified Parking Professionals (CPP).
*Five years progressively responsible experience with parking and transportation operations.
