The Department of Computer Science of the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science will be considered.
The department is ranked among the top ten computer science departments in the country and is a core unit of Texas Computing, https://computing.utexas.edu. It has 50 tenured and tenure-track faculty members across all areas of computer science. Many of these faculty participate in interdisciplinary programs and centers in the University, including among others the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Science, and the Texas Robotics Consortium.
Austin, the capital of Texas, is the center for high-technology industry, including companies such as Amazon, Google, Dell, Inc., IBM Corp., Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Apple Computer, Inc., Applied Materials, AT&T, National Instruments, Samsung, and 3M Corporation. All tenure-track positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in computer science or a related area at the time of employment.
Successful candidates are expected to pursue an active research program, to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, and to supervise graduate students in research. All faculty positions require a cover letter, current curriculum vita, research statement, teaching philosophy and selected publications. For tenure-track positions, at least three (3) reference letters are required.
