Assistant or Associate Professor; title and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities include teaching courses, applied lessons, and independent studies in electronic and acoustic composition at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Supervise graduate student research. Direct and manage the electronic music studios. The successful candidate will be expected to curate and produce a mixed-media concert series among other collaborations with related programs on campus, including but not limited to arts and entertainment technologies, theatre and dance, engineering, and computer science.

The incumbent will be expected to develop and maintain professional activities appropriate for a tenured position at a Tier 1 research university.

Qualifications:

DMA or PhD required (or equivalent professional accomplishments). A portfolio demonstrating a record of excellence as a composer in electronic and acoustic formats. Professional experience should include curating mixed media concerts plus two or more of the following: composing for theater or stage; songwriting; sound art or installation; scoring for film, video, animation, computer games, or advertisements; or producing. A record of achievement teaching and recruiting a strong class of students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences at a university or conservatory. The incumbent will be expected to develop and maintain professional activities appropriate for a tenured position at a Tier 1 research university.
