RESEARCH SPECIALIST B
Duties: Provide analytical toxicology support to complete a FDA-funded mycotoxins method validation project utilizing lateral flow technology (CHARM), ELISA and triple quad LC/MS/MS (liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry), including sample preparation and the operation and maintenance of the instruments. Maintenance of laboratory records and data entry must follow the GLP guidelines outlined by the FDA's Vet-LIRN (Veterinary Laboratory Investigation and Response Network). Other activities will include the routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and running additional tests using LC/MS/MS, LC/UV/FL, GC/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectrometry), GC/ECD (gas chromatography/electron capture detector) and ion chromatography will be needed. Writing and revising SOPs.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree, preferably in chemistry, and 1 to 3 years of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to accurately manipulate numbers to prepare solutions. Proficiency in accurate recordkeeping and using Microsoft Office. Attention to detail, adherence to SOPs, and safety compliance. Must be a team player with good communication skills.
Experience operating and maintaining LC/UV or LC/MS/MS systems is preferred.
