The University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine in Gainesville is seeking multiple, full-time, board certified/prepared, emergency physicians to join our Department in non-tenure accruing positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates will hold University of Florida appointments and become part of our current group of 39 full time faculty to support the expansion of clinical services in our community.
The Department's faculty currently provide clinical services in our 61 bed ED and trauma critical care center opened in November 2009. The Department also delivers pediatric emergency care coverage in a separate, dedicated Pediatric ED which opened in July 2011. Our 3-year emergency medicine residency program supports 24 residents and, along with our undergraduate medical education program, is central to our teaching efforts. The Department also features a growing research environment, which is enhanced through collaborative opportunities throughout the College of Medicine and institutes on the contiguous University of Florida campus. Shands at UF in Gainesville is the hub of a multi-hospital network and has become one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the State of Florida. The Department provides medical direction for county EMS, and hospital-operated ground based, helicopter and fixed wing medical transports.
Qualified candidates must have strong clinical experience and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced emergency department. Our negotiable salary and benefits structure is highly competitive.
