Job Description: POSITION TITLE:CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE I TPBOOK-CSA101 STATUS:Part time / Seasonal DEPARTMENT:Bookstore DIVISION:Administrative Services CLASSIFICATION:Non-exempt UNION:Non-union REPORTS TO:Bookstore Manager PLACEMENT: Temporary/Seasonal Level I MINIMUM PAY RATE:$10.19 per hour Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. POSITION SUMMARY This is a seasonal/rush position to assist with retail operations of the Joliet Junior College Bookstore approximately 3 - 6 weeks in length at the beginning/end of each semester. Provide excellent customer service and assistance as necessary and directed. Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Provide excellent customer service to all Bookstore patrons by assisting with receiving and directing of customers, handling inquiries, and other customer service functions. 2.Secure customer belongings prior to entering store and return when exiting store. 3.Assist with kiosk functions including printing of Financial Aid contracts, grants, and student schedules. 4.Assist students/customers with campus directory and other inquiries. 5.Assist with general maintenance of store. 6.Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.High School Diploma or equivalent. 2.Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 3.Schedule availability must include morning, afternoons, evenings and extended hours during rush. 4.Must be available to work required weeks during rush periods. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.Previous customer service experience. 2.Possess strong interpersonal communication skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1.Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 2.Ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs. WORKING CONDITIONS 1.Duties are performed indoors in the usual retail office environment.
