The Kansas State University Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, seeks a strong and experienced leader to serve as president. The president will be charged with building upon the foundation’s record of success and developing and articulating a compelling vision and actionable plans to achieve ever greater results in the years ahead. The Foundation’s mission is to secure and prudently manage private gifts in support of Kansas State University, thus helping to provide the financial means to advance the University's aspiration to be recognized as one of the nation’s Top 50 Research Universities by 2025. With K-State already setting university records for its 25,000-student enrollment, year-over-year fundraising, sponsored funding and athletic scholastic achievements, the Foundation seeks a leader who will partner with the University president and his leadership team, a strong and committed Foundation Board of Directors and a high achieving and motivated Foundation staff to inspire the University community to build on this momentum and further create, share and apply knowledge to make an impact locally, nationally and across the globe. The president of the Foundation is its Chief Executive Officer and reports directly to the chairperson of the Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the University President’s Cabinet. The president’s responsibilities fall into four general categories: leadership of the Foundation enterprise; personal participation in fund raising; management of Foundation assets; and extremely effective partnering with the University and its leadership. The president will work with a capable and talented group of senior leaders at the Foundation and K-State to build on its considerable achievements and reputation and marshal a new era of even greater fundraising success. He or she will be a visionary and progressive leader and will have the broad institutional experience and the intellect necessary to motivate and to lead a large and diverse team of professionals and volunteers. A key focus of the president’s responsibilities will include preparing for the public phase of an ambitious campaign and leading the University through the fulfillment of campaign goals.
