The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2015. We seek a broadly trained sociologist who has a strong commitment to teaching within an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences setting. The individual would be expected to primarily contribute to our two-course research methods sequence by teaching statistics with SPSS and, in addition, be interested in teaching GIS courses. Other specialties are open, with preference given to candidates who can teach in the areas of public health, criminology, demography or applied sociology. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of ongoing scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications/Credentials:

Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. While preference will be given to a Ph.D. in Sociology, applicants with a strong background in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Public Health, Criminology or Demography are also encouraged to apply.
